Mistborn: The Final Empire, by Brandon Sanderson

“Belief isn't simply a thing for fair times and bright days...What is belief - what is faith - if you don't continue in it after failure?...Anyone can believe in someone, or something that always succeeds...But failure...ah, now, that is hard to believe in, certainly and truly. Difficult enough to have value. Sometimes we just have to wait long enough...then we find out why exactly it was that we kept believing...There's always another secret.”

My Review
Yep, okay. Brandon Sanderson deserves his reputation. It is great to be discovering him so late in the game. I can complete this trilogy, then turn to the Stormlight trilogy (The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, etc).
I doubt I can add much to the thousands of reviews for Mistborn. I'll just mention two things; one, I really enjoyed the way he developed Vin, the female protagonist. It wasn't typical, and he made her real for me. Second, this is just a fun book. Lots of mystery and magic, with action and suspense. What else could you want from a great fantasy book?
Great book. Enjoyed it immensely!
